Method 1: Use a fire barrel
The fire barrel is the easiest way to get strong firepower every time. Use the lit newspaper and heat convection to ignite your charcoal evenly. Then, you can safely pour the charcoal into the burningoven and start grilling in 15-20 minutes.
Gently knead the newspaper into a ball and tuck it into the bottom of the ignition barrel. Don't pack it very tightly, just gently knead it into a loose ball, so that the hot air can rise sufficiently and eventually ignite your charcoal. If your ignition barrel does not have a solid bottom, put the newspaper on the grilling net, and then put the ignition barrel on top of the newspaper.
Put the charcoal into the fire bucket. Ignite the bottom newspaper from several places and place it on the grill. The newspaper will burn quickly, and the hot air and burning newspaper will ignite the charcoal at the bottom. Once the newspaper burns out, the charcoal will burn each other. The ignition barrel will heat up quickly, so put it on a charcoal net to prevent ignition of surrounding objects.
When the surface of the charcoal turns gray, you can pour the charcoal into the grill. This usually only takes 10-15 minutes. Once you pour in the charcoal, you are ready to start grilling.
Method 2: Use newspapers to start the fire
Open the ventilation holes at the bottom of the oven and clean the ash, because charcoal needs sufficient oxygen to burn. Knead 4-5 balls of newspaper and place it in the center of the grill. Newspaper burns quickly, and the flame will help the charcoal burn. You can also dip half of the newspaper in olive oil, rapeseed oil or vegetable oil to slow down the burning rate and give charcoal more time to burn. This DIY solution is a natural alternative to lighter oil.
Put small dry wood, matchsticks, or small pieces of wood for making a fire on the newspaper. They all have a low fire point and help ignite charcoal.
Put 3-4 charcoal on top of the dry wood near the center, and light the newspaper from several places. You will find that the dry wood is easily lit by the newspaper , And slowly lit the charcoal.
Slowly add more broken charcoal. Once more charcoal starts to burn, you can start adding more pieces of charcoal.
Small Barbecue usually requires 25-30 pieces of charcoal; medium-sized Barbecue, about 40 charcoal; large Barbecue requires 1-2 Bag of charcoal.
